How this check works

Reads

MX, and the addresses of your mail servers
SPF, with every include followed and the lookups counted
DKIM, at your provider’s usual names, and at your selector if you enter one
DMARC
Null MX, autodiscover, autoconfig and SRV

DKIM

A key can only be read when its name is known. So we also ask whether anything exists under _domainkey, where every key lives. If nothing does, and your DNS host is one we have checked answers that reliably, there is no key under any name. If we find no key but cannot rule one out, we say we can’t confirm it, and you can enter your selector.

Asks

Your domain’s own nameservers, directly. Every answer names the server that gave it.

Freshness

Live, not a cached copy, so a change shows as soon as it is saved. A repeat check within 30 s gets the same answer.

TTL

Shown on every record: how many seconds other servers may keep a copy, so how long a change takes to reach everyone.

Stored

Nothing. This check does not record the domain or the selector you type.

It reports only what the records show. Where it has to guess what you meant, it says “likely”.

Privacy, in short

This check does not record the domain you type. No cookies, no analytics, no third-party requests. Like every page on this site, our server keeps an access log with IP addresses for security, deleted automatically after 7 days. Zero Mile Contract Limited is responsible for this data.
